Welcome to the Web Home of the Tustin Area Historical Society!

Our website proudly celebrates the local history of the city of Tustin.  We have some great old photos and some interesting articles and you can be sure that we will add more over time.  We're always looking for more content - articles, photos, and even old ads and printed materials.  Should you have anything you would like to share, please contact us either at the museum directly or to our webmaster, Guy Ball.

We've also included photos to show what you will see on our museum tour; Juanita Lovret's wonderful articles from our hometown paper, the Tustin News; copies of recent newsletters; and information on the books we sell at the museum.

Take a few minutes and explore the site. Contact our webguy with any comments or recommendations regarding the site.

Also we've linked to "Tustin Hangers," an excellent documentary on the
history of the base and the amazing blimp hangers

Coming in 2010: New Book on Tustin History!

The Tustin Area Historical Society is working with local author Guy Ball and Arcadia Publishing to produce Images of America: Tustin, a book of vintage Tustin photos and text.

Guy is the author of two books on Santa Ana history, also published by Arcadia. He has co-authored several other books and helps create "mini" history books for the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society. He volunteers his time as webmaster for this website.  For the most part, he will use images from the large archives of the Tustin museum, but he will also supplement the collection with photos from local residents.

He is currently looking for good, sharp photos of local businesses from the 1960s and 1980s (preferably with people in the photos).  Contact him by emailing mrcalc@pacbell.net.

The book is similar to many of the other local history books produced by Arcadia for neighboring communities and will be available in bookstores as well as many other local stores and the museum. The planned publication date is October 2010 with an editorial deadline of February 2010.
